EXTINA® Foam is a unique formulation of ketoconazole delivered in the VersaFoam-HF vehicle. Additional patient benefits include application versatility (can be used on hair-bearing and non-hair-bearing skin).
EXTINA Foam is indicated for the topical treatment of seborrheic dermatitis in immunocompetent patients aged 12 years and older. EXTINA Foam should be applied to the affected skin areas twice a day (morning and evening) for 4 weeks.
EXTINA Foam may result in contact sensitization, including photoallergenicity. EXTINA Foam is not for ophthalmic, oral, or intravaginal use.
In clinical trials, the most frequent adverse reactions in 672 subjects treated with EXTINA Foam were application site burning (10%) and application site reaction (6%). Some subjects (1%) experienced dryness, erythema, irritation, paresthesia, pruritus, rash, and warmth (all relative to application site).
EXTINA Foam is available to prescribing physicians for therapeutic use and is supplied in 50-gram and 100-gram containers, and a 10-gram sample size.
